Actually, they could and did (although not if they weren't at all into sports); as there was Manton's, where they could shoot at paper wafer targets. Mind, once you got to be generally known as a crack shot, people tended not to call you out. And you could still have a duel with swords, although pistols were commoner by this point. Besides, in the run up to Waterloo, finding your seconds and arranging everything... No, no. :-D

Heh. I wasn't even working on the story as such; it was merely te piece of knowledge: X is the villain that seemed to come down from on high, with me left going, oh yes? And why? :lol: (Yes, I like those moments, too. Except, they tend to be followed by the morning afterish moments, when suddenly the wonderful explanation doesn't actually make any sense after all. Or maybe you don't get that. ;-D)
