thisbluespirit: (dw - Six & Peri)
At last! My effort for the 2009 [livejournal.com profile] sixathon.

Title Field Trip
Author [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating All ages
Word Count 5269
Characters Sixth Doctor, Peri Brown, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright. And half of 1F.
Summary Ian and Barbara encounter an unexpected danger on the school trip. Luckily, the Doctor is there to come to their rescue. In a manner of speaking…

Written for [livejournal.com profile] infiniteviking who requested Ian and Barbara, chaperoning a dozen kids on a school trip, encounter an alien menace and are rescued by Six. Unfortunately, getting out of danger is easier than getting back to civilization. Cue thirty hours trapped on a TARDIS that refuses to go where it's told, during which the Doctor and his increasingly amused companions have to entertain a group of scared ten-year-olds. The sillier, the better! The youngest they could be was eleven and I haven’t counted out the hours, but hopefully this is silly enough to amuse. I know it was 3rd prompt, but once I’d seen it, how could I possibly write anything else?

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] persiflage_1 for kindly doing the beta-reading. Any remaining errors are therefore All My Fault.

Title UNIT: Stardust
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: WIP
Characters: Sixth Doctor, Evelyn Smythe, the Master, Colonel Crichton, various OC 80s UNIT members.
Summary: October 1986: The Doctor and Evelyn arrive at UNIT just as the Colonel and his team are investigating the arrival of some mysterious aliens. Worse, the Doctor suspects a very familiar foe may be to blame.

Well, here we go again... I hope this works, what with juggling all these characters, but look! I wroted something with the Doctor actually in it. ;-)

Six and Evelyn, too, who are rather fun by themselves anyway. No Evil Torchwood this time, but the Master is nasty enough all by himself.

As usual, you'll need to patient until it appears on Teaspoon. (Well, you know, assuming everyone's not rolling their eyes and going "Not another of those UNIT fics...")

Title: Mistaken
Author [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating All Ages/ PG
Word Count 1472
Characters Sixth Doctor, Rose Tyler
Summary Rose makes a little error with the dimension canon and gets far more than she bargained for.

Um *in small voice* this technically is Doctor/Rose fic, but does that count if it's Six/Rose? ([livejournal.com profile] persiflage_1, you remember you said the only thing I could do to put you off my writing would be to suddenly start writing Doctor/Rose fics...? I promise not to make more than an occasional habit of it. I thought I ought to warn you, as you've got me favourited.)

I'd like to blame this on Death by Asprin, but I think it was entirely my own fault, if I'm honest. It came from us discussing swapping Doctors and episodes and so on. Which I started. [livejournal.com profile] jjpor, what did you get me into?
thisbluespirit: (Default)
...looking for a present for my Dad. (And since his birthday list is miles too short, he still hasn't got one, but I have an idea.)

And then I saw Blake's 7 S3 sitting on the shelf, all on its lonesome. ("It's a sign!" cried my optimistic self. The other half of me raised an eyebrow and said, "It's £10 dearer than on Amazon, you were supposed to be having a break, you've still got the commentaries, you want to write your story and don't be silly.")

And then while I was staring at it battling temptation (get this straight, Tanith Lee wrote an episode?) a 10 year old boy and his mum arrived beside me and started looking at the Doctor Who stuff. I earwigged, as you do. And what was he after? He only likes Colin Baker, apparently. This made my day and I forgot I wasn't allowed to do the Librarian thing and stepped in to help Mystified Mum ("I like David Tennant") who was baffled by the absence of a Season boxset, barring this Trial of a Time Lord thing by explaining how classic DW releases worked. "He really loves Colin Baker," she informed me with a shrug, obviously thinking I was sane (which she wouldn't if she'd known I was staring at B7 S3).

Isn't that great?

Which reminds me, I haven't actually signed up for [livejournal.com profile] sixathon properly yet. I at least know which companions I want prompts for. I'm looking forward to it - the time scheme is pretty decent and I do like writing for Six.

I'm just rubbish at coming up with prompts. I mean, if I had a story idea, I'd probably be writing it, more fool me.

I just thought of an overly cute ending for Strange Weapons. *Glares at self* Said story is not cute. Well, it had better not be. Grr.

Oh, I didn't buy S3!

All right, so you've just discovered the level of my sense of humour and the depths to which I will sink, but anyway, don't think I've linked to these two yet.

Companion Classes
(All Ages, Six & Peri)
http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=19680

The Doctor decides that it's about time Peri learned more about him.  Naturally, this involves a slide show presentation, some confusion and a written test.

TTR: Bric a Brac
(All Ages, Nine, Crossover with The Two Ronnies).
http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=22962

Which involves one Doctor, two Ronnies and a sonic screwdriver and surprisingly little innuendo.

I've removed the obvious TTR links in this one, but it actually takes place in Nameless, because where else would you find Nyder and Nine shopping at the Two Ronnies' hardware store?

Some explanation (you may need it) )

In the meantime, a fun piece I wrote when I read G K Chesterton's A Ballade of Suicide while looking for something else.

Ballad of Suicide (I Think I Will Not Hang Myself Today)
(Sixth Doctor, All ages)

Six should not be left alone with his mood swings...

The poem sounded so like Six I couldn't help it.  Aside from everything else, it even mentions H G Wells and has the line: "And decadents decay and pedants pall."  Plus, I have a feeling that the Doctor (or some of him) might get on well with Chesterton.  His celebration of the small things in life particularly.  Four and Six would enjoy his attitude to wine, I suspect.  ("I don't get where the water goes as long as it doesn't get into the wine.")

"An adventure is only an inconvenience rightly considered.  An inconvenience is only an adventure wrongly considered."  (G K Chesterton 'On running after one's hat').

And the fact that he was going to write an ode to the things in his pocket, but "It would be too long and the age of epics is past."

A short story to partner a long story.

4. Once A Human (Hidden Corners 4)
(Sixth Doctor, Peri, All Ages)

Blurb )Anyway, this one has Six, Peri and said Cyberman.  There's not really anything more to say.
